A foul- mouthed drunk who attacked a restaurant manager has been tagged and placed under a curfew at a Canterbury hostel.

Tia Lambert, 20, hit Oleia Leclercq in the face and kicked and spat at her when she was asked to leave Rocksalt in Folkestone after becoming abusive to customers. The town’s magis- trates’ court heard she was out with friends and in a drunken state when bar staff refused to serve her anymore.

Prosecutor Rio Pahlavanpour said: “She became rowdy and abusive to staff and customers so she was refused service and asked to leave.

“The victim tried to usher her to the door and at that point Miss Lambert struck her to the face.”

Mrs Leclercq told police: “I have worked in hospitality for 27 years and the language she used was the worst I have ever heard. I asked her politely to leave. Customers and staff shouldn’t have to witness that kind of behaviour.”

The court was told Lambert, who was found guilty of assault in her absence, intends to appeal.

But for the next eight weeks she remains under curfew between 10pm and 8am at Porchlight’s homeless hostel in Whitstable Road, Canterbury.

Judge Justin Barron told her to clean up her act and complete a year-long community order, which includes rehabilitation to tackle her cannabis and alcohol issues.

He said: “It was an unpleasant assault. Nobody needs to be subjected to the sort of behaviour you have been found guilty of.”

Lambert, who suffers with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder, was ordered to pay £100 compensation and costs totalling £385.

She is currently signed off work but hopes to go to university. A chamber orchestra which plays without a scrap of sheet music will return to the city for another electrifying performance tomorrow (Friday).

Aurora Orchestra is renowned for giving spine-tingling shows, playing whole symphonies completely from memory.

The musicians performed Brahms’ first symphony from memory in Canterbury earlier this year and return to the Colyer-fergusson Hall at the University of Kent to perform Beethoven’s Sixth symphony.

It will be introduced by BBC Radio 3’ s Tom Service and Aurora Orchestra’s principal conductor Nicholas Collon.

Aurora, which started in 2004, is the only orchestra worldwide playing entire symphonies from memory, allowing the musicians to move, change formation and get closer to audiences.

Beethoven’s Sixth From Memory with be performed at 7.30pm at the Colyer-fergusson Hall by the Gulbenkian. Tickets are £25, Gulbcard £23, student and under25s £10, and schools £9.
