Royals maintain impressive start

Tankerton Royals maintained their winning start in the Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League, Premier Division with a 4-3 victory at Chartham.

For the second week running, Joe Walker struck twice, with Lewis Heard and Adam Hobbs also on target.

Littlebour­ne played one short against Rising Sun and the champions showed no mercy, winning 11-0.

Sam Hallett and Wayne Fittal both claimed trebles with one each for Tom Moncur, Kenny Sanders, Sam Staunton and James Turner. The tally was completed by an own goal.

Chilham won 4-2 at Waterfront with Ben Walsh (2), Leon Baker, and Aaron Saffery – with a 25-yard free-kick – the scorers.

Ashley Kohler’s hat-trick for Monument PFC was only good enough to earn a point as they drew 3-3 with Crusaders.

Josh Charlton, Aaron Baker and Ben Sargent replied for Crusaders.

The Elephant made it two wins fom two in Division 1 beating Northgate Rangers 3-1 and Hampton also have six points from six after winning 4-1 away to Monument PFC Reserves.

Doubles from Liam Wellings and Lee Philips led A1 Tyres to a 4-2 win over Oare FC for whom Matt O’hara also scored twice.

Faversham Strike Force belatedly launched their campaign with a 5-3 win over Blean Sunday.

Gregg Lee and Ashley Cross both hit hat-tricks as Heron beat Canterbury Toon 9-0 in Division 2.
