The director of education at the Centre for Professional Practice at the University of Kent, Dr Anne-maria Brennan, has been made a Freeman of the City of London following a 30-year career in education. She now has the right to drive sheep across London Bridge without having to pay a toll, cannot be press-ganged into the navy, and can go about the city with a drawn sword.
