Medal haul for pair

Faversham SC’S Oscar Williams and Samuel Hawkins won two medals each at the Kent Development Meet at Medway Park, Gillingham. The boys fought off strong competition from other Kent clubs including Beachfield, Black Lion, Bromley, Gravesend, Herne Bay and Saxon Crown. Hawkins took bronze medals in the 14 yrs 50m and 100m freestyle races, while Williams gained sixth place medals in the 11 yrs 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle (1.27.75 PB). Williams also took seven seconds off his previous PB in the 11 yrs 100m individual medley, clocking 1.27.75. Both swimmers are competing in a few weeks’ time at the East Invicta Relay Championships to be held at Dover.
