Canterbury City’s under-16 girls eased into the semi-finals of the Winston Sports League Cup with a 6-0 win over Division 2 side Anchorians. Canterbury Eagles under-12s collected their first points of the East Kent Youth League Division 2 season with a 3-1 win over Folkestone Invicta Colts. Eagles took the lead after 10 minutes when player-of-the-match Kadir Rencber’s through-ball split the Invicta defence for Kayden Grant to burst into the box and find the top corner. That advantage was doubled when Rencber’s driving run caused chaos in the Invicta box, allowing Isaac Hodge to slide in and score from close range. It was 3-0 early in the second half when Rencber found Rabenda who, from 20 yards, rode three tackles and finished brilliantly. Invicta kept their hopes alive with a fine top corner goal but keeper Jake Richards produced an impressive oneon-one save and Callum Hewitt made a spectacular goalline clearance. Canterbury Eagles: Richards, Pinn, Hodge, Hadler, Shine, Hodges, Rabenda, Grant, Hewitt, Shaw, Rencber. Kuame Clarke-hinds scored five goals as Canterbury Eagles under-13s beat Herne Bay Youth 8-1 in Division 2. Bay led courtesy of an own goal but Eagles were 5-1 up by half-time, with Clarke-hinds scoring three and Dylan Saunders and Josh Hall one each. Bay created chances in the second half but it was Eagles who added three more goals through Dylan Saunders and Clarke-hinds (2). Monty Saunders claimed two assists with Clarke-hinds and Alfie Graña earning one each. Thomas Hayes was manager’s playerof-the-match, with Kuame Clarke-hinds taking the parents’ award.
