-

A prize package is up for grabs for companies entering the most prestigious business awards in Kent.

More than 150 people gathered at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge for the launch of the Kent Excellence in Business Awards 2018, better known simply as KEIBA.

It kicked off the entry process for the county’s biggest celebration of business achievement. This year marks the 10th anniversary of KEIBA, which culminates in a gala night at the Kent Event Centre in Detling.

Jointly hosted by Kent County Council and the KM Media Group, there will be 16 categories for companies and organisations based and operating in the county. Bosses heard from Luke Quilter, chief executive of Sleep- ing Giant Media in Folkestone, who won entrepreneur of the year last year. He said: “Winning a KEIBA is a really special achievement. You’re up against tons of great companies, so receiving an award is something to be truly proud of. I would definitely recommend entering the KEIBAS to any business in Kent that’s looking to gain more exposure, and, for the fortunate few, to fill up the awards cabinet.”

New for this year is will be a Family Business of the Year award, alongside the popular gongs for large, medium, small and start-up firms.

KM Media Group chairman Geraldine Allinson said: “There are a plethora of talented people who work for companies in Kent making a difference in this county with their innovations and service.

“It has been great to see the pure joy that entrepreneurs and staff have experienced when winning a KEIBA. Better still, it has been fantastic witnessing the doors which have been opened for companies that hold one of these coveted awards.”
