The ladies of the Oyster IBC enjoyed a good week in the Kent League, starting with a 157-89 home win over Prince Arthur, Gillingham. The Oyster won on five of the six rinks to pick up nine points, with Ann Moon, Alison Mcdonald, Anita Harding and Eunice Holder handing their opponents a 40-12 defeat. Christiann­e de Weduwe, Janet Whitbread, Ros Cheeseman and Hilary Avis eased home 34-7, while in contrast, Carol Field, Sylvia Sweeting, Beverley Schulz and Jacqueline Harvey were pushed all the way before emerging the victors, 23-22. Rink details Madelene Mcconomy, Joy Burton, Doreen Masters, Dawn Harris won 23-12; Carol Field, Sylvia Sweeting, Beverley Schulz, Jacqueline Harvey won 23-22; Christiann­e de Weduwe, Janet Whitbread, Ros Cheeseman, Hilary Avis won 34-7; Pauline Hogston, Gloria Clark,penny Perkins, Janet Drewitt lost 19-14; Ann Moon, Alison Mcdonald, Anita Harding, Eunice Holder won 40-12; Shirley Fey, Janet Pamphilon, Sue Swan, Jan Allen won 23-17 The second game of the week, away to Bromley, came down to the last rink and, with the scores level, Oyster picked up three shots to win overall 131-128. Rink honours were shared but the Oyster took seven points to Bromley’s three. Debbie Good, Sheila Tibby, Joyce Whitlock and Hilary Avis had the best win, 33-14.
