Toyota Yaris GRMN
£26,295 1.8-litre petrol supercharged 209bhp 250Nm 143mph 6.4 seconds 37.7 170g/km
Like a serious piece of kit. It features a redesigned front bumper, side skirts, a rear diffuser and spoiler to create a more aggressive look. The racer appearance is finished off with a centre-mounted exhaust and a decal set – both a nod to the Yaris WRC rally car. It’s certainly far from traditionally beautiful, but if you’re in the market for a car that screams for attention, then the GRMN might just be for you. Sadly, it’s only available in a white base colour with the decals optional – we’d like to have seen Toyota offer at least a red and black option to fit the Gazoo Racing theme.
Standard equipment on GRMN models includes an all-black interior with leather trim, an information display in the gauge cluster, aluminum sports pedals, a Gr-badged starter button, dual-zone climate control, and an infotainment display taken from the current Yaris range.
The interior is something of a contrast to the exterior. It’s mostly from the current Yaris range, albeit with a few changes including the addition of
Ultrasuede-finished bucket seats up front with Gazoo Racing badging and a steering wheel derived from the GT86 coupe. This isn’t exactly a bad thing, as it’s well-built, but it does result in some scratchy plastics being present and may come across as dull to those hoping the inside the shouty exterior aesthetic.
