Adam hat-trick at heart of fine win

-

Faversham Strike Force continued their upturn in form with a 4-2 win over Borden Village in their Kent County League, Premier Division clash on Saturday.

Ali Adam was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick at Sittingbourne Community College as the visitors struggled to deal with the pace of his partnership with fellow striker Jordan Simpson.

Tom Holmes scored a freekick from 25 yards to add gloss to a great performance in which Tom Axford was also influential in midfield.

“From back to front we looked solid and I can’t say how proud I am of this performance,” said manager Gary Axford.

“We were disciplined and effective and Borden could not live with us. A performance like this has been coming and now we must look to push on.”

Frank Davison scored and was named man-of-the-match for Strike Force under-10s against Sturry, as Ryan Brown and Charlie Hope were outstanding in defence.

Force’s Under-9 Lightning side played some flowing football against Herne Bay Harriers, with two goals each from Ronnie Hudson and player-of-the-match Jack Haile, and Niall Smith, Owen Lloyd, Jack Goodwin and Luca Simler scoring one each.

The Under-8 Lightning squad enjoyed a goal-filled derby with Dawes Hernhill Herons. Goals from Elliott Swift, Charlie Hodgson and a solo effort from Alex Gerdjikov added to an entertaining game.

The Hurricanes also played out a high-scoring match against Faversham Town.

Marcus Bromley scored his first two goals for the club – one a brilliant chip over the keeper – and was named joint man-of-the-match with Samuel Lilley.

Toby Sears netted a hat-trick with the other goals coming from Ethan Taylor and an own goal.

The other Under-8 team, Thunder, played Herne Bay Juniors with Archie Brazil scoring twice and being named player-of-the-match. Sammy Laker and Jack Wyles also found the net.
