HERNE BAY & WHITSTABLE SUNDAY LEAGUE: ROYALS STAKE THEIR PLACE IN FINAL

Tankerton Royals won through to the final of the Faversham Charity Cup, Senior Section after an extra-time win over fellow Premier Division side Jadon Blues.

Royals won 5-2 with Nick Gardiner and Nick Burns both scoring twice. Ali Brown claimed the other goal, with Rob Lawrence and Aaron Bowyer replying for Blues.

Ted Johnson hit four as Division 1 Chislet sent top flight Chartham tumbling out in the second round of the same competitio­n.

Chislet are unbeaten in the league and proved they would be a worthy addition to the Premier Division next year if they were to win promotion by winning 6-1. Luke Hedges and Barnaby Loader were their other scorers.

The game of the day in the Junior Section first round saw Herne Bay Athletic edge out Heron Athletic 7-6 in extra time.

Woodmans Hall swept past Canterbury Toon 5-1 with goals from Jess Kirby (2), Jack Watson, Matty Hart and an own goal. Sam Johnson scored Toon’s consolatio­n.

Faversham Strike Force beat Northgate Rangers 5-3, led by Ali Adam’s hat-trick. Adrian Jolly claimed the other two goals with Northgate replying through Richard Cowell and Liam Love (2).

The tie between the The Elephant and Oare went to a shoot-out, with the Elephant coming through 7-6. Ben Rowley, Matt Kelk and Jack Jepson scored for Oare as the game finished 3-3 after extra-time.

One second round tie was played and produced 14 goals with Littlebour­ne Reserves beating Whitstable OB 8-6. Dan Sillito and Nathan Perry (2) both struck twice with one each for Robbie Loomer, Alex Cooper, Alex Huckle and Rickie Davies.

Defending champions Rising Sun march on relentless­ly in the Premier Division, defeating Chilham 5-1 with goals from Stacy Davis, TJ Moncur, Michael Turner and Kenny Sanders (2). Andy Hayward replied for Chilham.

Wingham beat Waterfront 4-1, while Monument PFC beat Crusaders 3-2 with Tom Winding (2) and Bob Hitchcock the men on target. Chris Woolcott, Zack Wakerly replied for Crusaders

Blean Sunday secured a surprise 1-0 win over Monument PFC in Division 1 and in Division 2, David Reed’s treble helped Monument A to an 8-3 victory over Faversham United.

Olly Omer scored two with one each for Lawrence Brown, Ben Sargeant and Ritchie Martin.

Jonny Woollard (2) and Ryan Sargeant were the Faversham scorers.

Bay United and City Lions drew 2-2, Ryan Lee and Joe Hancock scored for United with City’s two coming from Grant Best and Wesley Miller.
