Fair weather welcomes new captains at drive-in Golf KENT FITNESS CROSS-COUNTRY LEAGUE: JONES THIRD OVERALL Athletics

-

For the first time in a few years the weather was kind for the annual captains’ drive-in at Faversham Golf Club. Both captains got their drives away, with men’s captain Phil Haynes managing to get the better of his female counterpart Stephanie Figgis on this occasion. The respective charities that the pair have chosen are Anticoagulation UK and the Multiple Sclerosis Trust, and the club hope that a lot of money will be raised during 2019. Following the drive-in, a 13-hole mixed foursomes event took place involving 36 players. The winners were Graham Durward-akhurst and Pam Bentley. After the golf, the captains and president unveiled their names on the honours board. Simon Jones rounded off another good campaign in the Kent Fitness Cross-country League by finishing third in the final meeting at Blean Woods on Sunday.
