FOOTBALL Town revival continues Bostik Lge round-up RESULTS, FIXTURES, TABLES

-

Faversham Town continued their resurgence with a 2-1 win at home to Hythe on Tuesday night.

It’s now three matches unbeaten for the Lilywhites, who have put six points between themselves and bottom side Greenwich.

Tuesday’s win lifted them above Herne Bay and Sittingbourne while denting Hythe’s promotion hopes in the process.

Faversham were dominant from the start and they went close through Liam King and Matt Bourne.

Ashley Miller and George Monger failed to hit the target before Jamie Maxted forced a save from George Kamurasi.

At the other end, Jack Sammoutis fired over but the hosts took a deserved lead on 33 minutes.

Ben Chapman was brought down in the penalty area and Danny Walder sent Kamurasi the wrong way from the spot.

Hythe levelled four minutes before half-time when Ryan Palmer collected Elliot Capel’s pass and threaded a shot into the corner.

However, a goal from Ashley Miller punished poor defending by his former side to restore Faversham’s lead in added time.

Kamurasi saved well from Miller during an even second half while Charlie Webster shot straight at Will Godmon.

Chapman went close to making it 3-1 and Palmer had a chance for Hythe but Faversham closed out the win.

It’s been a bad week for Herne Bay who lost twice, conceding 11 goals in the process.

They were thrashed 6-0 by leaders Cray on Saturday before going down 5- 1 at home to Ramsgate.

It was another first-half horror show for Bay, whose defence was breached four times in just 18 minutes.

Charlie Dickens and Connor Sanders got the Rams up and running with Rory Smith and Tom Chapman also cashing in.

Chapman doubled his tally after the break and Harry Miller’s 61st-minute strike for Bay was barely a consolation.

Whitstable’s winless run extended to seven matches when they drew 1-1 at Sevenoaks on Tuesday.

Stephen Smith looked to have ended the Oystermen’s long wait with a goal just before the hour mark but the home side equalised in the 90th minute through Ainsley Everett. Canterbury v
