Broome Park’s 2018 lady captain Sue Ellis visited the new Hypo Hounds headquarters at Smarden to present them with a cheque for £3,400. This amount was raised by the club at a number of events staged throughout the year with the help of members and friends. Jane Pearman, the CEO and founder of Hypo Hounds, was delighted with the donation that will go towards helping save the lives of vulnerable children and adults with type 1 diabetes. Sue and fellow golfers Jenny Munden and Carole Terry were shown around the new headquarters and introduced to the expert dog trainers and were able to experience first-hand the training of the exceptional dogs. For further information about the charity, or if you have a child who has type 1 diabetes who could be helped, or if you wish to get involved in raising funds, go to www.hypohounds. co.uk.
