Monument A continue to fly the flag for the Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League in the Kent Junior Trophy. They are through to the semifinals after a 4-2 home win over Beckenham Manor. Joe Smith and Joe Venes both claimed doubles. They will now be away to Farnbrough Old Boys Guild Reserves on March 3. Rising Sun proved too strong for Premier Division rivals Chartham in the Challenge Cup, sweeping to a 6-1 win in their second round tie. Joe Kennett and Rob Lawrence both scored twice with Jack Delo and Stacy Davis also on target. Wingham secured a 5-2 win against The Druids, in round three, despite Greg Lee and Rhys Byron netting for the Division 2 outfit. Matt Hennessy’s hat-trick helped fire The Elephant to a 4-3 victory over Division 1 leaders Littlebour­ne in the President’s Cup second round. Liam Love was their other scorer with Robbie Loomer and Nathan Perry (2) replying for Bourne. Chislet completed a 3-0 win over Tankerton Royals in the Whitstable Charity Cup senior section second round. Their scorers were Brad Brown, Ben Waite and Mustafa Cakir. Also through are Crusaders with goals from Josh Charlton and Liam Petts earning them a 2-1 win at Woodmans Hall (Carl Suter). Penalties were needed to separate Bay United and City Lions in their Faversham Charity Cup Junior section third round tie. The game finished 1-1 after normal time, and 2-2 after extra time with City then winning the shootout 7-6. Nathan Moat and Joe Walters had scored their goals before the game went to spot kicks. Waterfront were 4-3 victors over Chilham in the Premier Division, Ben Walsh (2) and Sam Callander netting for the losers. A1 Tyres edged Faversham Strike Force 2-1 in one of three games in Division 1. Steve Hall and Mark Chatfield scored for Tyres, with Sam Gaiger responding for the Force. Monument Reserves (Richie Martin, Sam Bubb) drew 2-2 with Oare (Matt O’hara, Brad Falconer) while Blean Sunday were 3-1 winners over Faversham United. Jack Dawson struck twice with Connor Epps grabbing the other. Ben Rowley (2) and Ben Hanrath saw Canterbury Toon to a 3-2 success over Tankerton. Connor Carey’s free kick was enough to give The Heron the spoils against Northgate Rangers and in the other game Herne Bay Athletic handed Whitstable OB 3 a 6-3 defeat.
