Unfortunat­ely, it will be necessary to close the Brownies very soon if we are unable to find a new leader. This will obviously have a knock on-effect to the Guides and Rangers if we are not getting new members. Leaders need to be over 18 and under 70 and willing to undergo DBS checks. Closures will be between 8pm-6am, and the slip roads will also be closed at certain times, depending on work. Although the main diversion from Brenley will be via the A2, Harbledown, London Road Canterbury, Whitstable Road Canterbury and up through Blean to Whitstable, many people coming from Faversham will probably cut through Goodneston­e and Graveney and head for Seasalter, so there may well be increased traffic through the village at night. WI: The WI will have a session on making Easter cards with Lyn Fitzgerald, Graveney village hall, Wednesday March 13. The WI meets at the hall on the second Wednesday of the month, 7.30pm. The speaker was then introduced, Mrs Melanie Gibson-barton who, with the aid of photograph­s, took us on a whirlwind tour around the city of Bruges that included history, folk lore, bears, churches, museums, canals, beer and of course chocolate. Minutes of last meeting were approved and signed and members were informed of a possible outing to Tenterden, possibly July. A first aid course is being booked. Members were thanked for the donations to the gift baskets to be taken to the Council meeting in March. Members were given details of garden party to celebrate 100 years of East Kent Federation to be held on August 15 at Freda’s, this will be hosted by Canterbury Circle, a raffle, quiz would be included and members will be encouraged to dress up from any decade
