Eastling

Correspondent: Hilary Harlow, Pinks Farm, Eastling, Faversham, ME13 0BA Tel: 01795 890338 hilary.harlow@me.com Church: Sunday March 17, 10am Communion at Stalisfield. W.I.: Tuesday March 19, village hall, 2pm, members will be having a talk about the volunteers who help deliver blood to those who need it. Anyone interested in this subject, men or women, will be very welcome. Contact Barbara 01795 890020. Short Mat Bowls: When top of the table Herne Bay travelled to Eastling it was well worth their visit, the Eastling Cherries could see why they are top of the league. The home side managed a win on one mat; 2 points, but the visitors went home with 4 points. Three days later at the return match Herne Bay’s mats were good, but you could not say that about their floor, they took the home advantage and the Cherries returned home with nothing. Next the team went to Chilham, where they were first formed as Eastling Cherries. They had previously played them in friendly matches but this was different, a league game. Des, Bryan & Roy had a good win, 2 points, and that was it. Three days later they came to Eastling and again Des, Bryan & Roy managed a win. They are such a good side it’s difficult to know why they are at the bottom of the league. With only 2 games to go the Cherries will just about hold on in the Second Division. Come and try your hand at bowling, every Friday, Eastling village hall, 7.30-9.30pm, contact Roy 01795 537162.
