Wickes makes two finals Swimming
Faversham Swimming Club collected nine personal bests as their team of 12 competed at the Kent Championships across consecutive weekends last month.
Emma Wickes had plenty to show for her involvement as she reached the finals in both the girls’ 16 years 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke, recording respective sixth and eighthplaced finishes.
In the process, she also achieved two club records as well as setting two PBS.
Team-mate Jessica Perkins, meanwhile, capped all three of her swims with PBS, as well as a club record in the girls’ 10/11 years 50m freestyle.
Benchmarks continued to be surpassed courtesy of Emily Holt, who broke club records in all four of her events in the girls’ 17+ years classification.
Her PBS in the 50m freestyle and the 50m butterfly where then followed up by Bella Holt’s PB in the girls’ 13 years 50m breaststroke.
Neve Smith continued a successful competition as she picked up a PB in the girls’ 12 years 200m individual medley.
Representing the boys, Oliver Edwards delivered a PB in the 15 years 50m breaststroke, while Nathan Williams swam to club records in both the 16 years 50m butterfly and the 50m breaststroke.
Next on the schedule for Faversham are the Kent County Relay Team Championships in Dover.
