New village plots are a real winter warmer
Expect toasty toes at a small new development with winter-proof extras. Homes & Living took a look.
Buyers can expect a warm welcome at the new homes for sale at Berberis Place, where there is underfloor heating to the ground floor.
Now available at the Pentland Homes development, at Woodchurch Rd, Shadoxhurst, near Ashford, are threebedroom homes, priced from £450,000.
The homes have lots to keep you warm this winter, with thermostat-controlled radiators to the top floor, heated towel rails and cavity wall insulation as well as the ground floor underfloor heating.
Priced at £450,000 is the threebedroom Brasted, that comes with a single car barn and driveway parking. The threebedroom Chartham, priced from £500,000, comes with a double car barn and driveway parking.
Plots come with a 10-year NHBC structural warranty and part exchange is available. Shadoxhurst is set in wooded countryside and farmland. It has a small and simple 13th-century church, St Peter & St Paul and there are some fine old buildings.
Also in the village is country pub, the Kings Head, which dates back to 1580. Popular for food, it offers a weekly ‘Fish Friday’, with a choice of cod, haddock or plaice fried in homemade beer batter. Ashford is a 12-minute drive away, with its newly extended outlet centre and Ashford International for HS trains. Tenterden, with its pretty high street, independent shops and pubs, is a 15-minute drive away. Marketing suite at the 12-home development is open Friday to Monday, from 10am to 5pm. The developer runs a part exchange scheme. Government-backed low deposit scheme Help to Buy is available, so buyers can move in with a deposit of just 5%.
