dA mum from Ttonbridgebid hhas startedttd a petition titi to set up a fundraising day especially for the National Health Service.

Chloe Derrick came up with the idea of ‘NHS Day’ while self-isolating with her five-year-old daughter, Scarlett. The 24-year-old said: “It’s times like this that make you realise how much the NHS is struggling and how important it is for it to have extra funding.

“We raise money for Children in Need and nd Sport Relief each year, which are great charities, but I just thought, why not have a day for the NHS too?

“If we had a fundraising day once a year, the country could come together and make a huge difference. “Whether it’s raising money through small bake sales, or a big event involving celebrities, I think NHS day is something people should consider.”

 At the time of writing, more than 1,500 people had signed. To join them, visit change.org and search ‘NHS day to raise funds’.
