Double victory boosts Force’s promotion bid

Faversham Strike Force under-13 Lightning continued their excellent form with a brace of wins. Victory over local rivals Faversham Town on Thursday boosted their hopes of promotion. Gabriel Smith bagged four goals with Jake Crawley adding, while man-of-the-match went to Tom Scamp.

That victory was backed up with another against Bromley Green on Sunday. Dereck Olah, Frank Davision and Arthur Williams scored. Further strikes followed through Charlie Hope’s 30-yard free-kick and captain George Ruffle’s header. Finn Cornish was superb in goal and shared playerof-the-match honours with Ruffles. Under-11 Lightning’s excellent team performanc­e was rewarded with a glut of goals at Ramsgate Youth. Archie Suter, Tom Martin, Alex Gerdzhikov, Toby Halls, Toby Sears, Archie Elliott,

James Cummins, Ollie Maguire and man-of-the-match Ollie Jobe all scored. A thrilling match for under-11 Thunder against Deal Town Rangers was topped off by goals for Jay Thorne (2) and Charlie Frankham. Dylan Blades made his debut for the Force. Thoughts turned to next season for under-10 Lightning as they played a friendly against Dover Rangers at The Mount. Roman Lee finished well while Albert Biscoe (2) and Reggie Hughes also scored. Kailan Wallace was named player-of-the-match. Under-10 Thunder put on a show in the rain against Ramsgate Youth. Their goals came via a Harry Wilson strike and the calmest of finishes from Kailan Wallace. Isla Saunders was named top player for her great tackling and unstoppabl­e runs. The wind and rain also battered under-9 Thunder who played away to Hernhill Herons in a tightly contested match. In another great team performanc­e there were spirited displays from Harry Peters and Ethan Gilbert, with Samuel Moffett and Frankie Wilson among those to find the target for the Faversham side. Kenny Curtis and Kian Gardner scored for under-8 Thunder against Rising Stars while Finley Grey collected the player-of-the-match award for his tireless work rate. There was another close game for under-8 Hurricanes as Dylan Jones scored and was named top player against Sturry Kings.

Under-8 Lightning played a closely fought and high-quality match against Tyler Hill. Their goals flowed through Sidney Biscoe, Elliott Jones and manof-the-match Tyger Pharoah. Tyler Hill also provided the opposition for under-7 Lightning in a competitiv­e match. Charlie Starkey scored the first from a tight angle and Heinrich Olivier added a second with a welltaken half-volley. Hamish Allison was handed player-of-the-match honours for a great all-round display.
