Halloween Community Event

-

Today was a special day at Canterbury House, we have been able to hold our first community event. The home has been open since July of this year and has been welcoming new residents on a regular basis since then. It’s wonderful to watch our community grow.

This is our first Halloween and we wanted to celebrate in style, not just with our friends and families but also with the community in

which we live. It is so important for us to stay connected to the community, most of us have lived here for a long time.

We have so many plans in the pipeline, to work with local groups and schools on art projects and education but until it’s safe for everyone

to meet indoors we have taken full advantage of the mild autumn weather and invited them along to our spooky Halloween event. We have had the most fabulous day; it could not have gone any better. There was a great turnout, the community really came together, and it was wonderful to be part of it.

Chanelle from the lifestyle team had really pulled out all the stops, the decorations were fabulous, the costumes ranged from scary to hilarious and the kitchen team had outdone themselves with the spooky snacks.

The weather was wonderful, the sun shone all day and not a drop of rain fell. The children took part in a treasure hunt, solving puzzles

and looking for clues, it was a thrill to watch them running around, enjoying themselves.

This event brought everyone so much joy, we weren’t just part of the fun, we were the centre of it, and it was just lovely to not only be able to take part but to also have been involved in the planning. The decorations that we had worked so hard to make took centre stage and were admired by our guests.

We would like to thank everyone who came along, you really made our day, and we look forward to meeting some of you again at our firework display on the 3rd November. We can’t wait.
