ON THE RIGHT TRACK

Since announcing that the 2017 Billing Land Rover Show has crossed the river to the Billing Off Road Course site, the organisers confirm it is full steam ahead

-

if you’re looking for a Land Rover show to attend in the UK this year, make a note of the dates Friday 27 to Sunday 29 of July in your diary now, as the Billing Off-road Show promises to the best and biggest yet.

For the first time since the Land Rover Experience used it ten years ago, the Riverside Course, designed by the original team of Billing Show organisers in 1992, Richard Green, John Cornwall, Richard Thomas and Dave Barker, will be open. That combined with the even more demanding Lakeside Course, with its infamous mud run, makes the 2017 event the ultimate Land Rover and 4x4 challenge.

In the demonstration area, both weekend and day tripper visitors will find plenty to do and see with trade stands and autojumble galore and, of course, the usual Land Rover clubs. Confirmed traders so far include: 4 x Forty One, 4W Motors, Armadillo 4x4, Bailey Morris, Beartown Tyres, Bedford Blasting Services, Boundary Tec UK, Diamond Defender, Discovery Breakers, Everything Land Rover Ltd, Goodwinch, Greens Land Rover Services, Guy Salmon, Haymoor Products, Heritage, Hobson Industries, Instinct Autojumble, Landy Bits n Bobs, Landcraft 4x4 Ltd, Lifting & Crane Supplies, LR Matters Ltd, Nomad Webbing, Optimill, RAC Parts Ltd, Raptor Engineering, Sam’s Spares/trim, Shire Fabrications and Powder Coating, Stone Circle, Terry’s Stickers, Totally Graphics, Venter Trailers, LVB Limited and Walker Components, with lots of applications still being processed.

There’s even a section for toy Land Rovers, which is already attracting a lot of interest. The programme for the demonstration area is still being finalised and should be announced soon while work on the children’s play area is well underway. Evening entertainment is provided in the form of live music on the main stage on both the Friday and Saturday, plus you’ll be able to sample some fabulous ales and ciders from Blackpit Brewery, Silverstone Brewery, Hart Brewery, Towcester Mill Brewery and Saxby Cider.

The grounds are also home to the Grange Farm campsite, which has accommodated thousands of happy campers during the Billing Land Rover Show week for over 20 years. It’s family-friendly with a good selection of food and drink outlets, a large beer tent, shower and toilet facilities – all in a beautiful countryside setting.

If you’re looking for a weekend to get away from it all with the family and indulge in your favourite passion, this is the event for you.
