LRSOC

Many thanks to the club for hosting Gary and I. If you would like to find out more about this club see lrsoc.com/forum/. We hope to do more events with them in the future.

STENA

We used the efficient and Series I-friendly Stena Line ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland. Although the ferry we booked did leave late at night, they did allow us onto the ferry an hour or two before the departure time. Great service, food and facilities. You can go to sleep in Harwich and wake up fresh and good to go into Holland! Ideal when driving something as demanding as a Series I. stenaline.co.uk

CAMPING NEAR AMSTERDAM

If you are looking for a very quiet campsite within a short commute of the city centre then look no further than Camping het Rietveen in Landsmeer. The campsite is clean and the pitch is grassy with a lot of shade from the trees. Did I mention the canals and water? For more details or bookings seecampinghetrietveen.nl.

THANKS

Gary Pusey for our safe passage in Toad, the one-of-a-kind Series I that is about as fast as my straight-six Defender. It certainly uses the same amount of fuel!

The Dutch Land Rover Register and Kees Cremers for their help with the choice of campsite, working out the scenic drive routes, RAI photo opportunity and great Dutch hospitality.

Andrew Cross from the LRSOC for making the memorable weekend happen.
