Show stoppers
In our Ed’s Welcome note last month he complained about being charged £20 to park at a recent event. He also asked if show costs were a rip-off? This is what LRM fans had to say about it on Instagram.
lrtmms: I was disappointed with the high fees to attend the 70th Cooma Land Rover event and additional costs to participate. It’s probably worth it but it adds so much to the cost of driving an old Land Rover over 600 miles plus paying for accommodation.
philevans3175: I know these events cost a lot to put on and that they want to make money, but if you charged a sensible rate then more people would attend as they could afford to attend.
Rita_freelander: It’s the cost of events
that stops us from attending events. I went to one event that was £150 per person for a weekend, plus parking was £20 per car. Factor in the cost of diesel getting there...
gloskris: It’s not just Land Rover shows that are getting expensive, the Game Fair will set you back £30 for a day ticket while the food stalls will practically nick your wallet.
mark.pook: Myself and the wife came to Billing for the first time this year and we loved it. @thebillingoffroadshow was a bargain and we will be back.
John_lund33mk111: If you think shows are a rip-off then try organising a wedding. I just do not know how some services can justify such ridiculous prices.
