DAVID EVANS:

Design Manager at Chrysler/talbot, joined Land Rover in 1983. Resigned in 1993 and became an independen­t design consultant working with clients such as Land Rover Special Vehicles, Jeep, Rolls Royce and Volvo, before retiring in 2006. Enjoys his Daimler 250 V8 and Triumph TR3A.

MICK JONES:

Experiment­al Body Maker at Standard-triumph, joined Land Rover in 1977. Early retirement in 2005 and became an advisor to various trim specialist­s and suppliers to the automotive industry. Drives a Discovery Sport.

ALAN MOBBERLEY:

Worked at Chrysler in Paris before returning to the UK. Joined Land Rover in 1986. Took early retirement in 2004, later appointed Chief Designer Tata UK; Head of Design at David Brown Automotive; lecturer on Transport Design at Coventry University. Drives an Evoque.

MIKE SAMPSON:

Designer at Jaguar, joined Land Rover in 1983. Took early retirement in 2007. Independen­t design consultant with clients such as Tata, David Brown Automotive and Rolls Royce and lecturer on Transport Design at Coventry University. Enjoys touring in his Morris Minor and 1951 Triumph Renown. Daily driver is an Evoque.

GEORGE THOMSON:

Senior Designer at Jaguar, joined Land Rover in 1984. Retired 2004. Post-land Rover petrolhead activities have included owning a couple of Ferraris and a brace of Mercedes, including an SL55 AMG. Recently swapped his Land Rover for a Jaguar F-pace but is on the look out for a P38A or a Discovery 3.

DON WYATT:

Head of Advanced Design at Peugeot Citröen in Paris, joined Land Rover in 1987. Took early retirement in 2006, and enjoys it! Daily driver is a Discovery Sport. Insists that his “movement to ban the Nissan Juke from British roads as an affront to design aesthetics” is gathering momentum!
