DEFENDER Tdi

200TDI/300TDI, 1990 to 1998

-

LAND Rover workhorses were underpowered until the advent of the Tdi diesels. The 200Tdi was fitted from 1990 to 1994 and was superceded by the 300Tdi, which shared the same power and torque figures but was slightly more refined. This was the beginning of the golden era of Defenders and many would argue these were the greatest vehicles ever built. There has been a steady supply of serviceable engines and gearboxes from terminally-rusted and scrapped Discoverys of the same era, although they are now getting scarcer.

BUYER’S TIP: Grab one while you can.
