THIS is JLR'S Marmite car: folk either love it or hate it. Old-school enthusiasts resent the fact it's nothing like the original, but plenty love the sophisticated new technology that makes this the most capable production off-roader ever made. Engine variants range from 2.0-litre diesel and petrol, to a 3.0-litre mild petrol hybrid, aimed at boosting power rather than boosting economy. Demand is outstripping supply, with the prices of secondhand models much the same as new ones.

BUYER’S TIP: There's a long waiting list for all 110 models and SWB 90 isn't expected until 2021.
