You are incredible

- Patrick Cruywagen, @busheditor

LAND Rover owners are incredible people. Take the owner of the 6x6 Defender on our cover, Stephen Elliot, as an example. When I met him my first thought was what a jovial chap. Then when he started to tell me about why he bought the 6x6, to help him fulfil his quest of visiting every one of the 193 countries on the planet earth, I was seriously impressed. Stephen looks like the landlord at your local who pulls you a pint. He may not have the pedigree or background of a Bear Grylls or a Sir Ran Fiennes yet he has been to more countries than them and probably had more fun along the way. He still has all of his fingers and toes and says that at no stage of his travels did he have to eat bugs, try and outrun armed rebels or climb Everest. Read more about Stephen and his Kalahari Ferrari 6x6 Defender on page 34.

The incredibleness of the people featured in this issues continues on page 46! Thanks to Michael Wilson and his team for safely leading 18 Land Rovers across the biggest stretch of intertidal mud flats in the UK. The Morecambe Bay crossing is a must-do 4x4 trip for anyone who drives a Land Rover and has a sense of adventure (and a jet washer to get rid of the salt water afterwards). Driving across those soft, shifting sands is without a doubt one of the best things I have ever done in a Land Rover. We have been busy at our HQ and the first issue of Practical Land Rover is now on sale at newsagents. Or else why not click onto our website to order yourself a digital or printed copy. See our shop at lrm.co.uk. This first issue is a Defender Special and it gives readers a step-by-step account of some of the most important DIY Defender jobs such as how to service your Defender or replace an engine.

The way we are consuming media is fast-changing. LRM recently joined the Exact Editions platform. If you subscribe to this digital platform it also gives you access to back issues of LRM. Best of all this resource is fully searchable, like Google, for LRM content. Sign-ups start from just £9.99 per quarter and you can do so via lrm.co.uk.

See you next month for our annual Winter issue. Want to know what to expect in it? Find out on page 128.
