Flickering wings

This stained glass butterfly suncatcher reflects the colours of April’s diamond birthstone. Working from her Staffordshire studio, glass artist Joy Salt uses the Tiffany copper foil technique to create the leading effect. The panels are made from clear diamond-cut glass and iridised textured glass for added shimmer. The suncatcher has a small chain at the top so it can be hung in front of a window. They can be used as decoration or bird scarers, as it helps stop birds flying into windows. Each butterfly is individual, measuring 12cm wide by 9cm tall.
