Protecting the landscape

-

Using seashells as candle holders (March/April 2017 issue) is a lovely use for ones already collected. Readers should, however, be reminded of the old adage “take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints”. In today’s environmentally-conscious world, we need to ensure landscapes remain as untouched as possible, so others, including future generations, can also enjoy them. Seashells breaking down contribute to creating lovely sandy beaches. Barbara Guppy, Hertfordshire
