1 Leucothoe ‘Rainbow’
With arching stems and brightly mottled evergreen foliage, this ever-changing shrub is ideal for the smaller garden. In spring, its canopy is a myriad of pinks, creams and greens which contrast with its white dangling flowers. Height and spread 5ft (1.5m). Priced at £14 each.
2 Nandina domestica ‘Obsessed’
The top leaves of this compact shrub splay outwards in an architectural fashion, first appearing deep red, then maturing to forest green. Its white flowers arrive in small torch-like wands in early summer, followed by bright-red ornamental berries. Maximum height and spread 40in (1m). Priced at £15 each.

This small, bushy evergreen addition produces showy panicles of bright red buds through winter, which open in spring to reveal fragrant white blossoms.
