CELEBRATION OF WORDS

Established in 1989 by a volunteer organisation and booksellers across the city, Chester Literature Festival is considered one of the oldest such festivals in the UK. Each year, the event attracts a diverse range of contemporary authors, poets and speakers to the historic walled city, which nestles by the River Dee, offering an extensive programme of talks, readings and performances designed to immerse visitors in literature and inspire creative imagination.
