CHECKING POTS REGULARLY

-

Potted plants are an easy way to bring colour and interest to a smaller garden or patio, but in winter, they can become vulnerable to frost damage. Icy temperatures, heavy snow and chilled winds can result in pots cracking; often exposing the roots and damaging, or even killing, the plant. During the colder months, they should be checked regularly and the plant repotted in another pot as soon as possible if cracks are discovered. The broken pot can be turned on its side to provide shelter for garden visitors, or smaller fragments used for drainage.
