MAKING A SQUARE KNOT

To begin, lay the 4 strings flat together. The knot is made with the outer two strings: the two central ones are filler strings.

3 4 2 3 1 String 1 is then taken over strings 3 and 2 and under string 4.

5 Using even pressure on both sides, the knot is pulled tight to complete one square knot.

4 1 2 3 String 4 is taken under strings 2 and 3 and up and through string 1. 4

2 4 2 3 1 String 4 is taken under strings 3 and 2 and up and through string 1.

1 1 2 3 4 String 1 is taken over strings 2 and 3 and under string 4.
