Djibouti is a small country in the horn of Africa, between Ethiopia and Somalia. It is 8,958 square miles in size and has a population of 846,687, so is our biggest country so far.

And it’s our first country listing football as the national sport, although it only joined FIFA in 1994, having become independen­t from France in 1977.

It was previously known by the wonderful name of the Territory Of The Afars And Issas.

Although they have played 4 games so far in 2016, they haven’t won any of them.

Their last win was in 2011, so although the Djiboutian­s are keen, success is thin on the
