Find out more about £10k local grants

-

ANYONE involved in a community group, village school or parish council - with an idea for a local project - is invited to a free workshop taking place which will help them to get started or progress their project.

The workshop, ‘Developing Your Community Project’ is being held tomorrow, 9.45am-2.30pm at Warslow Village Hall.

It will be an informative and interactive workshop giving details of key funding sources, tips on how to write successful funding applications, and a great chance to share ideas with, and learn from, other local community groups, with lunch provided too.

Visitors will find out more about the South West Peak Community Grants Scheme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the South West Peak Landscape Partnership, which can provide grants of between £500 and £10,000 for a variety of projects that can contribute to enhancing, protecting or celebrating the natural or cultural heritage of the South West Peak.

Local groups are already benefiting from this grant scheme with the Tudor Farming Interpretation Group being one of the first to get a grant earlier this year to produce a book about the fascinating graveyard in Sheen.
