Mistakes cost us the cup tie insists Baker
time but Chorley were in a comfortable position.
Baker made two half-time subs with Mat Bailey and Billy Reeves coming on for Walford and Short and he changed the system with Bailey making it three centre-backs.
Former Port Vale youngster, Reeves was signed from Stafford Rangers after they released his registration in time to make the match-day squad and had a decent effort on goal in the 57th minute which was beaten away by the keeper.
At the other end, Roberts did well to keep out a low shot from Jordan Lusey on 72 minutes.
However, in general the second half was a pretty tepid affair with the Magpies pretty content with their lead and Blues ensuring the defeat was not any heavier.
Overall, no disgrace to go down 3-0 to a clearly superior side

Blues were in action last night when they took on Widnes at Harrison Park, but that’s the last action they will see until next Tuesday night when they travel to take on Market Drayton Town.
Leek have no game scheduled for Saturday, as it’s the Buildbase FA Trophy extra preliminary round and Blues are not involved until the preliminary round when they take on the winners of the Loughborough Dynamo v Market Drayton Town tie, which takes place on Saturday.
Leek then travel into Shropshire next Tuesday night for an Evo-stik West Division match against Market Drayton Town.
The Shropshire side have made a decent start to the season and chalked up their third win of the season at the weekend with a 2-0 win at Chasetown, thanks to two goals from Desean Martin.
That game marks the start of a busy month for Leek, with six games scheduled.

Baker explained: “We had a couple of good chances to score early in the game and it would have made it interesting to see their reaction. It would have put Chorley under a lot of pressure. Between the boxes I don’t think there was much between the teams, the difference was we gifted them two goals, especially the second and third. They were avoidable and that was disappointing.”
Former Port Vale youngster Charlie Walford conceded the penalty for the second goal and the third was a free header inside the Leek area.
“It was a rash challenge for the penalty and the marking for the third was poor,” said Baker.
New signing Billy Reeves,
was handed his debut from the bench at half-time, replacing Walford, and he had a steady 45 minutes.
Reeves was signed from Stafford Rangers, who agreed to cancel his registration, in time to make the trip to Victory Park at the weekend
“Billy did well when he came on. He’s been schooled well at Port Vale and I’d like to think he will bring an extra bit of quality to the midfield. He’s capable of playing anywhere in the middle of the park and will be a useful addition to the squad,” reported Baker.
