Sides find out their opponents in next round of Trophy and Vase

-

NANTWICH TOWN and KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC will both be at home in the FA Trophy first round proper - whenever the ties are played.

The imminent month-long lockdown has left non-league clubs in limbo, but the two local sides found out their opponents yesterday. Nantwich, who won at Redditch United on Saturday, will entertain Workington. Workington play in the division below the Dabbers - the Northern Premier League North West Division - and are currently in second place after an unbeaten start to the season.

Kidsgrove, meanwhile, will play host to South East Division rivals Stamford. Grove, under Scott Dundas, pictured, are in fourth, with Stamford lying in seventh. The winners of the ties will earn £3,000 in prize money. The losers take home £775. The draw has also taken place for the second round of the FA Vase.

STONE OLD ALLEYNIANS and ABBEY HULTON

UNITED broke new ground by reaching this stage of the competition with their weekend triumphs.

Stone recovered from 2-0 down to beat AFC Mansfield, while Abbey Hulton defeated higher-tier Racing Club Warwick on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

The draw will now see Stone head to play the winners of the Studley v Long Eaton United tie.

Abbey Hulton are also on their travels - whenever the second round is scheduled for - as they were given a trip to Coventry United. CONGLETON TOWN cruised through on Saturday with a 5-0 demolition of Gresley Rovers. Ryan Austin’s men will now head to take on

New Mills.

HANLEY TOWN’S scheduled first-round tie against Deeping Rangers was postponed at the weekend because of Covid-19 issues in the Lincolnshire side’s camp.

The winners of that tie will be at home to Loughborough University in the next round. The winners of the secondround ties will pick up £900 in prize money, with the losers banking £275.
