Families urged to jump to it this Christmas in support of hospice
THE Donna Louise Hospice for Children and Young People is calling on local businesses, schools, clubs and community groups to don their Christmas jumpers this Friday, December 11.
Nicky Birks, head of income generations and partnerships at The Donna Louise, said: “For many of the children and young people who rely on the hospice, there is no way of knowing whether this Christmas might be their last together as a family.
“Everyone who pulls on a Christmas jumper for The Donna Louise will be helping give local families here at the hospice the chance to make precious and lasting memories, at Christmas and throughout the year.”
Taking part in The Donna Louise Christmas Jumper Day couldn’t be easier.
Simply pull on a Christmas jumper, encourage your staff and colleagues, pupils, friends and family to do the same, and send your donations to the Staffordshirebased charity when you’re done.
Nicky added: “We know the usual festive celebrations might be a little more low-key this year, but that certainly won’t stop us from enjoying a bit of magic and sparkle this Christmas.
“Whether at home, at school or at work, The Donna Louise Christmas
Jumper Day is the perfect opportunity to spread some festive cheer, as well as supporting local children, and their families, who rely on the hospice at Christmas, and throughout the year.”
“We’ve chosen Friday, December 11 as the official date, but others can do it on any day they choose.
“Our festive fundraising pack is available now at thedonnalouise. org/christmas, and is full of helpful hints and tips to make your Christmas Jumper Day a cracking success.”
