Share your engagement story for £100 off wedding dress

-

A NORTH Staffordshire bridal shop is offering newly engaged couples money off a dress – just for sharing their adorable proposal stories.

The Bridal Quarters opened in Leek in July, after Covid-19 delayed the original April opening date – as it has the weddings of many couples.

Owner Emma Northcott, aged 42, from Leek, got married in September 2018 and decided she wanted to own her own business.

She said: “I was born in Leek but worked in London all my life and got married two years ago. I always wanted to run my own business in Leek as I wanted to be at home more.”

Emma is offering brides £100 off a dress if they share their engagement stories in December.

“December is the busiest month for engagements, and after a tough year I thought it would be lovely to share their positive stories,” she said.

“People haven’t been able to go on holiday, and weddings have been postponed three or four times. I want to give back to customers for being so supportive as I’ve opened.

“There’s a real community in Leek and I’ve had so much support from other businesses in the town.”

Emma bought her wedding dress from a former bridal store in Leek, and when the owner announced she was leaving the business, Emma took the opportunity to take it on.

The 42-year-old moved the business to Russell Street after putting an offer in in November 2019. But due to the pandemic, plans to open in the spring were postponed.

She said: “I decided to set up a bridal shop because when I was looking for my own gown, I didn’t have the experience that I wanted. I couldn’t really find anything different and everything was really samey.”

Emma added: “We’ve been a lot busier than I thought we would considering the pandemic, and the reaction from customers has been really nice.

The first bride-to-be to share her engagement story was NHS nurse Emma Richardson, from Rugeley.

Her partner Josh Whitehurst proposed to her on December 15 at the Sandon Hall Great British Drive In cinema to an iconic Love Actually scene.

The couple are set to become parents in the coming weeks, and have bagged £100 off a wedding dress at The Bridal Quarters.

The bridal shop owner added: “The night before Emma messaged me with her engagement story, my husband and I had watched Love Actually!

“It was such a lovely story and I can’t wait for more people to get in touch with their proposal stories.”
