A CHRISTMAS video has been released to celebrate a college’s amazing fundraising achievements.

Buxton and Leek College has released the seasonal video, which features students and staff looking merry and festive.

The start of the video showcases singing of 17-year-old Tori Davies from Leek, a public services’ student, who covers Keane’s song Somewhere Only We Know.

This excerpt is taken from a full virtual Christmas concert delivered by the student that has been sent to over 25 care homes in Buxton, Chapel and Leek.

A spokeswoman for the college said: “There are lots of other familiar faces from around the college featured in the video, together with some unfamiliar furry ones as well.

“This year Buxton and Leek College has chosen a number of charities to support, raising over £2,000 during the Christmas period so far.

“The Enrichment Team raised £590 with their Reindeer Rush sponsored walks, with donations going to East Cheshire Hospice, while the public services students’ 24-hour Run, Ride, Row event raised an impressive £826, with funds collected going to Blind Veterans UK.

“Two hundred and ninety pounds has been raised for Christies Wishes, £500 was also raised by the Foundation Learning Group through a sale of beautiful Christmas decorations and goods that they handmade themselves. Their chosen charity was Leek Foodbank and The Salvation Army.”
