Firm celebrates first birthday with major increase in revenue

A STAFFORDSH­IRE Moorlands business has seen revenue on its nursery website increase by more than 570 per cent.

Since its launch last year, Leek-based Central Medical Supplies nursery website has seen a 578 per cent increase in revenue.

The success has led to a boost in job opportunit­ies at the site.

The team at Central Medical Supplies (CMS), which is based in Leekbrook, have now been celebratin­g following their first successful year of the online nursery store Baby Central www.baby-central.co.uk.

Having launched before of the pandemic, the nursery distributo­r says that it has has been staggered by the success of its online presence which has not only boosted sales but also meant that the team has also expanded by four people.

The Baby Central website features all of CMS’ popular brands including their own award-winning Dreamgenii range as well as Dr Brown’s anti-colic feeding bottle collection as well as lots of nursery essentials for mums-to-be and parents.

Such has been the success that the website has seen a 350 per cent increase in visitors to www.baby-central.co.uk over the course of the year resulting in the huge increase in revenue.

Amy Sellers, marketing manager at CMS, said: “The Baby Central website has been a labour of love for the whole team at CMS and it’s a testament to everyone from salels and marketing, to admin and warehouse teams as to how successful the first year has been.

“We have introduced new tech to handle the level of orders and as a Leek-based business we, of course, value our local customers and so have implemente­d a covid safe click and collect service operating from our distributi­on centre.

“This will ensure those living in the area can save money on delivery costs for all of their parenting essentials.”

Going into 2021, Baby Central will include even more recognised brands as the company works with new partners as CMS continue to drive traffic to the store making them a onestop shop for parents.

Amy added: “All of our operations have remained covid safe as we continue to expand the website into 2021 and we have so many exciting new offers and products arriving throughout the coming months.”
