Stables damaged in ‘accidental’ blaze
FIREFIGHTERS were called after stables near Ipstones were damaged in a blaze.
Crews from Leek and Cheadle tackled the fire on the Bottomhouse to Ipstones road last Thursday.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Phoenix Stables at
Bottomlane Farm, on Bottom Lane, at about 1.10pm due to a blaze which had damaged a stable block.
“A generator shed had caught fire, which spread to the wooden stables next door.
“A member of the public had spotted the incident and called it in using the ‘what3words’ app so the control centre could locate the incident. Two crews from Leek and a water carrier from Cheadle were mobilised.
“Using three hose reel jets they had the fire under control by 2pm and dampening down began to take place.
“By 2.35pm, it was deemed the fire had been an accidental ignition.”
