Five wicket haul for Ault keeps Endon in the frame for promotion to top flight

-

ENDON are in second place in NSSCL Division One after Harvey Ault’s five-wicket haul propelled them to the spoils at home against Sandyford.

Jordan Weaver’s 70, containing five fours and five sixes, plus an unbeaten 42 from Andrew Sibley, helped Endon to 198-8 from their 45 overs. Yasir Ali took two wickets.

Ault then took centre stage for Endon, capturing 5-40 to send Sandyford sliding to 90 all out.

Josh Reynolds weighed in with 3-17, while Ryan Davis top-scored with 16.

Leycett claimed an impressive home victory over Eccleshall.

David Speakman’s 46 was backed up by 37 from Rajpal Beniwal, Tom Lawton’s 27 and 25 from Dan Redfern, as Leycett amassed 197-8 from their 45 overs.

Myles Coughlan claimed 3-45 for Eccleshall and then compiled 50 in their post-tea reply.

Matt Thomas chipped in with 26, but that was as good as it got from an Eccleshall perspective.

They were eventually bowled out for 145 as Tom Lawton helped himself to 3-25.

Elworth registered a fifth win in six Division One outings to continue to set the pace at the top of the table.

Bottom-of-the-table Little Stoke – who have lost all six matches – were their latest victims as the Cheshire side banked a comprehensive success.

Half-centuries from Chris Regan and Alex Banks enabled Elworth to set sail to a match-winning total of 218-7 from their 45 overs.

Regan plundered seven fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 71, while Banks had laid firm foundations with 59 to put the game out of the home side’s reach,

Little Stoke skipper James Ecclestone claimed a couple of wickets – and then tried his level best to end his side’s winless run.

Ecclestone compiled a runa-ball 79, hitting 11 fours, but support was virtually nonexistent as Little Stoke were dismissed for 120.

The left-arm spin of Steve Morgan reaped 4-11, with Ben Holt chipping in with a couple of wickets as Elworth returned across the county border with another rich bounty of points.
