Cheadle thirds are in fine form to beat Stafford 4ths

CHEADLE thirds were in fine form to win at Stafford fourths in NSSCL Division Eight.

Jamie Bratt’s 3-10 was key to Stafford being restricted to 104-9 from their 40 overs. Will Ashton (28) and Mark Pursehouse (24) did the bulk of the run scoring.

Cheadle needed just 16 overs to bank an eight-wicket win as Alfie Bonehill (39no), Ryan Day (32) and Archie Pyatt (23no) all impressed.

Oakamoor thirds won by four wickets at Hem Heath fourths.

Luke Walker’s 4-25, allied to two wickets apiece from Arthur Wood and Amy Carnwell, left Hem Heath all out for 150.

Phil Lewis and Alex Emery contribute­d 49 and 30 respective­ly.

Jonathan Wood (44) fronted the Oakamoor chase and although George Leese picketed a couple of wickets, Oakamoor crossed the line.

Woore seconds defeated Crewe seconds in their meeting.

Woore recovered from 79-6 to post 220 all out thanks to Michael Griffiths (51), Neil Bloor (38) and Daniel Perks (30).

Jonathan Minshull, Harry Edler, Daniel Starnes and Josh Oakes all struck twice.

Andrew Boffey (50), Starnes (48), Max Gay (32) and Calum Meakin (31) kept Crewe in contention after tea, but two wickets apiece from Bloor and Andy Kenvyn limited the Cheshire side to 196-9.

· In Division Nine, Oakamoor fourths defeated their Meakins counterpar­ts.

Half-centuries from Carl Allcock (75) and Alex Gallagher (63no) were backed up by Joe Carrington’s 35 not out as Oakamoor amassed 191-4. Alfie Radzins (35) and Shahid Iqbal (26) starred for Meakins, but Ethan Brindley’s 4-23 left them all out for 116.
