‘You can never give too much’

-

IN THIS current hostile economic climate of soaring energy bills, rocketing fuel prices at the pumps and items we buy in our shops, a

Just Giving page for an ongoing plight, miles away from home can perhaps feel like it doesn’t need to or certainly shouldn’t concern us.

Still, no matter our personal situation, we are all drawn to the harrowing plight of thousands of Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country and the devastation caused in their cities by Putin’s inhumane war.

So yes, it does need and certainly should concern us, and I know and rejoice in the number of those who are already supporting in all manner of ways.

Back from the Ukraine, Paul has confirmed the difference we are making and the profound gratitude felt by those deeply afflicted.

Why give more? Here I strangely recall my late mum’s April birthday falling one year on both Easter and Mothering Sunday asking her how many presents my young siblings and I were to buy her and she said: ‘Sharon – It is up to you all; but please remember, you can never give too much.’

A few pounds towards the charities dedicated to bringing ambulances, medical equipment and all manner of supplies will save multiple lives thanks to as many of us who can afford to making that token gift possibly even again and again.

Roy Molson is looking for such funding to purchase two ambulances on behalf of the people of Leek & Cheddleton in the sum of £10,000.

It is a figure that I am sure we can all raise together, for despite our own real hardships, we are most thankfully not in their shoes.

For all those who can manage a pound or two, let’s please help Roy and his team reach their goal.
