Four Moorlands schools celebrate landmark event
FOUR Staffordshire Moorland schools joined together for a Jubilee celebration.
The schools met together for the event at Manifold CE Primary Academy in Warslow.
They included staff and pupils from St Leonard’s First School, Ipstones, Hollinsclough CE Primary Academy and St Bartholomew’s Primary, Longnor.
All the pupils took part in a carousel of activities including maypole dancing, church led activities run by Father John and Rev Nicola, Jubilee arts and crafts and singing and dancing to music through the Queen’s 70 year reign.
Janette Mountford-lees, executive principal at Manifold CE Academy said: “We have so enjoyed sharing this Jubilee celebration with our friends from other schools. It has been sheer joy to see all the children playing happily together.”
Anne Collins, headteacher at St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School, Longnor, said: “It has been so wonderful to spend time with our neighbouring school friends after such a long pandemic. It has been very special to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the sunshine, enjoying our friendships and having fun.”
Kelly Stanesby, headteacher at Ipstones CE First School, said: “What a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to celebrate the Jubilee with children from other schools. After several years of them not being able to make social connections, this was a very special day. Thank-you to Manifold school for organising it.”
Lynda O’sullivan, headteacher at Hollinsclough CE Academy, said: “What a wonderful way to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee! The children have thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and making lots of new friends.”
