Macbeth show might be all right on the night...

-

THE Leek Theatre Company is taking to the stage again with an unusual performance of Macbeth.

The company was formed in 2022 after the merger of sister societies, Leek Musical Theatre Company and Centre Stage Theatre Company. Both of these former societies were long-standing in the town of Leek providing decades of theatre for the Staffordshire town. Every year Leek Theatre Company provides a mixture of plays, concerts and musical theatre, having great success last year with ‘Wind in the Willows’ and Agatha Christie’s ‘And Then There Were None.’

After a slight change in plans for this year, the theatre group will be taking to the stage again in April to bring their audience a lively and nonsensical comedy: ‘The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of Macbeth’ - this promises to be an evening you will not forget. The play is based on a small town theatre group who attempt to stage their production of Macbeth while everything conspires against them to ensure everything will not be alright on the night. The audience is guaranteed a night full of surprise, chaos and laughter from start to end.

You can see this production on stage at Westwood First School in Leek from Thursday 4th April until Saturday 6th April. Buying your tickets in advance is recommended so as not to be disappointed. You can do this from E Graingers on Derby Street in Leek or online at www.leektheatrecompany.co.uk. You can follow Leek Theatre Company on social media to see some brilliant behind-the-scenes footage and keep up to date on information about upcoming productions.
