New private counselling service ‘a great asset to town’

-

A PRIVATE psychotherapeutic counselling service has become the latest tenant of Lulworth House, in High Street, Cheadle.

The former police station and museum is now home to a banking hub and other businesses.

These now include Maze Counselling Services, run by psychotherapist Leanne Stanley, who formerly worked in staff wellbeing support and addiction recovery for the NHS service.

Ms Stanley said: The choice of Lulworth House as our new base reflects our desire for growth and our dedication to being accessible to our clients.

“It allows us to offer greater flexibility and underscores our commitment to being a part of the community and the wider Staffordshire area.

“I am incredibly excited and honoured to join the Lulworth community.

“This move is more than just a change of address; it’s a significant step forward for Maze in my mission to serve clients with even greater care and flexibility. I am eager to open our doors and start this new chapter in Staffordshire

Stewart Bagnall, property manager at Lulworth House, said: “I think Maze Counselling Services is a great addition to the Lulworth House family and we look forward to her becoming an established part of the High Street in Cheadle and supporting our community.”

Cheadle town councillor Paul Keeling feels the arrival of Maze Counselling Services is timely.

He said: “With the increase in mental health problems caused by various factors such as the cost-ofliving crisis, increased use of social media, income inequality, relationship breakdowns, and many more issues, having Leanne Stanley establish her practice in Cheadle will be a great asset for our town.”

Ms Stanley founded Maze Counselling Services in September last year with the aim of offering compassionate and bespoke mental health support. Its services include nationwide remote counselling sessions and face-to-face interactions in Staffordshire.

Ms Stanley said: “At the heart of our practice are the core values of compassion, integrity, and empowerment.

“We believe in the transformative power of understanding and empathy, and strive to uphold these principles in every aspect of our work.

“The goal is to ensure every client feels heard valued, and supported as they navigate their path to recovery and self-discovery.”

Ms Stanley is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Tonic Wellbeing Practitioner, an affiliate of SP Bespoke Wellbeing, a Thinkwell Affiliate and a Police Firearm Officer Association approved counsellor.

At the heart of our practice are compassion, integrity, and empowerment
