Paddy is once again a happy cat thanks to new owner

Margaret Russell, secretary of CHEADLE ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY, updates us and highlights some pets who are looking for a new home...

-

PADDY, the black and white cat who was very sad in the cattery having lost his beloved owner, is now in a new home with a lovely lady. A match made in heaven. He is once again a happy cat.

Also lucky to find a home last week was Betty the cat who has a heart murmur. Following her heart scan last week it was found that she does have some abnormalities in her heart, but for now she is doing well.

Coming into our care last week was another black and white cat who has been called Compo. He was a stray for many months relying on handouts but now he is happy to have a cosy bed and regular meals every day and all in the same place. He has a lovely nature and we are hoping that he will soon find a new home.

Don’t forget to get your tickets for our Stringers and Ringers concert at the Guild Hall, Cheadle on Friday 19th April, starting at 7pm. The concert is being given by The Uke 3A Ukelele Group and the Alton Handbell ringers. I can assure you it will be a night of fun and laughter. Just what we all need. Tickets, costing just £7 each, are on sale at Kenrals, High Street, Cheadle and also at The Cross Street Pet Stores in Cheadle or you can ring 01335 390369. You can bring your own drinks, glasses and snacks.

On April 27th a night of Soul, Motown and Disco is being organised to raise money for the Waifs and Strays at Cheadle Cricket Club from 7pm to midnight.

Tickets costing £10 each are available from Bargain Booze or you can pay on the door (cash only). This will be a wonderful night for the young and the young at heart, so please come along. We look forward to seeing you.

I am going to make another appeal for Daisy, a lovely black and white cat who never gets anyone enquiring about her. She was born in 2020 and then spent a brief spell with someone who was not able to care for her properly so we were asked to take her into our care. She was soon found a lovely home with a couple who had another cat, but Daisy was not prepared to share so she had to come back to us and since then no one has enquired about her.

Her only problem is that she needs to find a home where she is the only cat. Surely there is someone who could give Daisy the home which she deserves.

Jeff, an all white young tom with blue eyes, came into care recently and he is hoping to find a country home where he can enjoy having fun without the danger of getting into a busy road. He is fabulous.

Isla is a lovely natured tabby and white cat who is approx 5 years old. She would love to have a home with someone who will give her lots of fuss. Donald is all black and has been in care for 5 months. He’s another one who never gets anyone ringing to offer him a home. How sad is that? He is now about 8 years old and must

think everyone has forgotten about him. Maybe it’s because he is a black and few people seem to want a black cat.

Do you have any cuddly toys which you no longer want? If so, please consider donating them to us as we will need more over the next few months. Please ring 01335 390369 if you can help so we can arrange collection.

You will find details about all of the cats and dogs in our care on our website. Take a look www. cheadleanimalwelfare.org.uk
